SP+ Volunteers at Philabundance

On Tuesday, August 23rd, SP+ Regional Manager Todd Rosen went with 10 employees from the Philadelphia office to volunteer at Philabundance, Delaware Valley’s largest food bank.

“It was created in 1984 with the simple belief that no man, woman, or child should go hungry,” said Mr. Rosen. “They seek to drive hunger from our communities today and end hunger forever. They provide food to approximately 90,000 people per week – of which 30% are children and 15% are senior citizens.”

The SP+ team started the day making care packages for seniors. Each box was packed with essentials to ensure recipients had an adequate amount of food and supplies to last them for the month. For the rest of the afternoon, the team split into two groups, with half working on sorting fresh produce for the neighborhood shelters and pantries, and the others working on packing frozen meats and other types of foods donated by local grocery stores.

Mr. Rosen speaks highly of his teams efforts. “Without question, my region has some of the most generous and caring team members I have ever worked with in my 11+ years at SP+. No matter what I ask these men and women to do, they always jump at the chance to help and give back to the city that gives our company so much! I am proud to be part of such a great team,” Mr. Rosen said with a happy heart.
